OUR HISTORY

Ridgewood Montessori was founded in 1995 with a vision to provide an exceptional educational experience rooted in Montessori principles. Over the decades, we have grown into a leading institution, dedicated to nurturing each child's unique potential through a holistic approach.

Our journey began with just 15 students in a converted Victorian home, where our founder, Dr. Maria Santos, established the first mixed-age classroom. Inspired by her studies at the Association Montessori Internationale in Amsterdam, she brought authentic Montessori practices to our community.

Today, we serve over 200 families across our beautiful 5-acre campus, featuring purpose-built learning environments, outdoor classrooms, and a working garden where children connect with nature daily. Our story is one of continuous innovation and unwavering commitment to excellence in early childhood education.

From the Founder

Mr. Kofi Asante, Founder of Ridgewood Montessori

When I opened these doors fifteen years ago, I had one question: what if we trusted children to lead their own learning? Today, I see the answer in every classroom — children who ask 'why' before 'how,' who help before they're asked, who see mistakes as lessons, not failures. This isn't just a school. It's a promise we make to every family: your child's potential is limitless, and we're here to prove it.
